Branding Photos
I'm Kelly, a Senior Mom, photographer, and lover of a good rom-com, the beach and my toes in the sand!

One of my favorite ways to personalize a senior photography session is by incorporating props. Props add meaning, tell a story, and help showcase who you are during this exciting season of life. Senior year is filled with accomplishments, passions, and memories, and the right props can help bring all of that to life in your photos.

Props aren’t just accessories—they are storytelling tools. They help capture you beyond the smile and the pose. Whether it’s something you’ve poured years into or something that represents what’s ahead, props make your session unique and meaningful.
They can also help seniors feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Holding or interacting with something familiar often makes posing feel more natural and relaxed.

Sports & Activities
If you’ve spent years on the field, court, or mat, your sport deserves a place in your senior photos. Jerseys, balls, bats, dance shoes, cheer bows, or even letterman jackets are wonderful ways to honor your dedication and hard work.
Hobbies & Passions
Do you love music, art, farming, or the outdoors? Instruments, sketchbooks, cameras, books, fishing gear, or even animals can add personality and authenticity to your images. These are the details that make your session yours.
Academic & Future Plans
College sweatshirts, acceptance letters, or items that represent your future career goals are great ways to celebrate what’s next. These props create a beautiful bridge between where you’ve been and where you’re going.
Personal Touches
Some of the most meaningful props are simple but sentimental—family heirlooms, meaningful jewelry, a favorite hat, or something that reflects your style. Even small items can make a big impact in photos.

The key to props is balance. We want them to enhance your photos, not distract from you. I recommend choosing one to three meaningful items rather than bringing everything you love. During your session, we’ll mix photos with props and classic portraits so you have a beautiful variety in your final gallery.
Before your session, take some time to think about what truly represents you. If you’re unsure what to bring, I’m always happy to help you choose props that fit your personality, outfits, and session location.
Senior photography is about celebrating you—your journey, your passions, and this once-in-a-lifetime moment. Props help tell that story in a genuine and personal way, creating images you’ll cherish long after graduation day.
If you’re planning your senior session and want help choosing the perfect props, let’s chat and start planning a session that reflects exactly who you are.
xoxo, Kelly
